Cancellation policy
Last updated 19 August 2026.
This is the whole policy, in the same words we use everywhere else on the site. If anything here disagrees with what you were shown before you paid, what you were shown before you paid wins.
The one rule
Our service fee always comes back in full. It does not matter who cancels or why. We do not keep a penny for a deal that did not happen.
Card processing fees never come back, because the card networks keep them whether a payment goes ahead or is refunded the same day, and we do not cover them out of our own pocket.
So every refund is worked out the same way:
what you are owed of the reservation amount plus our whole service fee minus the card processing fee
What that looks like in euros
On a €900 deal you pay €972.00 — a €900.00 reservation plus our €72.00 fee. The card networks take about €31.84 of that on a card issued in India.
| If the deal is cancelled because… | You get back |
|---|---|
| The landlord backed out | €940.16 |
| Your visa was refused | €940.16 |
| You changed your mind, and your agreed terms return the whole €900 | €940.16 |
The three are the same figure because we treat all three the same way. What can change the third one is not us — it is the terms you and your landlord agreed, which is the next section.
There is no such thing as a 100% refund on this platform. We would rather you read that here than discover it later.
The part we do not decide
When you are the one calling it off and there is no visa problem, how much of the reservation amount comes back is whatever the cancellation terms you and your landlord agreed when the deal was created say. You wrote them. They saw them before they confirmed. Neither of you can change them afterwards, and neither can we.
That is deliberate. Those terms are the only thing standing between a landlord and an uncompensated late cancellation, and a policy that returned everything regardless would make them meaningless — which would leave landlords with no reason to accept this at all.
If the landlord backs out, or your visa is refused, this section does not apply: the whole reservation amount comes back.
Visa refusals
We need the official rejection, forwarded to support@norentscam.com. There is nowhere to upload it in the app. A screenshot of an email is fine; a message saying it was refused is not.
If the move-in date slips
Nothing is refunded and nothing is deducted. Both of you reconfirm the new date and the countdown moves with it.
The one hard limit is that the new date still cannot fall more than 80 days after the day you paid — that is a cap on how long a payout can be deferred, not a rule of ours. If a delay pushes past it, the right answer is a refund under this policy and a fresh deal, not a stretched one.
After the landlord has been paid
Once the 48-hour window has closed and we have paid the landlord, there is no refund path here at all. Anything after that point is between you and them.
How to cancel
Email support@norentscam.com. Say which deal, and why. A person reads it.
If your 48-hour window is still open and something is wrong with the property, use the Report a problem button on the deal page first — that is what actually stops the money moving. Then email us the detail.
When you will get it
Refunds are issued by hand, so allow a working day for us to act on it, and then however long your bank takes to show it — usually five to ten days.
Your bank converts twice. You paid in euros on a rupee card, and the refund is sent in euros and converted back. Your bank sets both rates and may add a foreign transaction fee, so the rupee amount you get back will be less than the rupee amount you sent, separately from anything on this page. We never see either rate and cannot affect it.
